I originally trained as a Printed Textile designer, graduating in 1996 from Derby University with a BA (Hons) in Printed Textile Design. My end of degree show was themed on tasteful, sexy lingerie and corsetry, which I absolutely LOVED producing and it was really well received.
After a short career break, raising my two gorgeous boys, I couldn’t wait to start drawing again. I felt as excited and passionate as I did as a student 20 years earlier, despite my style maturing a little along the way. My husband converted my studio, where I now totally lose myself for hours on end, combining my two greatest passions – art and fashion. I love texture, colour and embellishment. I use pens, inks, pencils, pastels, acrylics, gouache, a bit of sparkle and whatever else I find to experiment with, to capture my unique view of all things beautiful.
I am an unabashed fashionista, keeping up to date with latest trends in Vogue (or Grazia!) which of course also demands extensive research on the High Street!
My portfolio currently consists of wedding dresses, sassy lingerie, fabulous shoes and handbags, tiny toes, children's clothes, along with bespoke party invitations and personalised greeting cards.
I have particularly enjoyed drawing wedding dresses recently, since a dear friend commissioned me to draw hers and her husband’s outfit. Why not keep alive the memory and beauty of your most cherished and loved items, whether wedding dresses or a little girl's first ballet shoes.
Starting a new business is very exciting, although a little daunting, but I will always find time to draw. It's such a wonderful way for me to fulfill my passions creatively and truly lose myself in my work.
I really do hope you enjoy my work. I would love to hear from you if you have any queries, comments or suggestions.
